Sarah Rosa Selected ECC Women's Volleyball Player Of The Week
Helped The Purple Knights Run Winning Streak To 13 With Three Victories Last Week
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport sophomore women's volleyball player Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her outstanding play in matches that took place from November 11 through November 17, 2013.
Rosa helped the Purple Knights go a perfect 3-0 in the final week of the regular season, as she slammed double-digit kills in all three UB wins. On the week, Sarah averaged 3.80 kills per set. She also chipped in seven service aces, six total blocks and two assists. On the season, she leads UB in kills per set at 3.30.
Sarah and her teammates will next be in action on Friday night when they host the 2013 East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament in Hubbell Gym. Top-seed Bridgeport will face number four seed Dowling at 5:00 p.m. on Friday followed by number two NYIT versus number three LIU Post at 7:30 p.m. Friday's winners will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday for the 2013 ECC Title and an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament that will begin the first Thursday in December.
