Volleyball Snaps Two-Match Losing Skid With Home Sweep Over C.W. Post
Purple Knights Now 4-1 In Conference Play
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak on Friday night with a straight sets, 25-18, 25-15, 26-24, East Coast Conference home win over the visiting C.W. Post Pioneers. With the win, UB is now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The Pioneers fall to 7-11 overall and 1-4 in the ECC.
Freshman Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) led the Purple Knights offense with 11 kills on the night, and she also contributed three service aces.
Junior Taylor McBeth (Langley, B.C., Canada) led the Bridgeport defense with a match-high 15 digs.
Freshman Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) played a fine all-around match recording seven kills, four service aces and two solo blocks.
Senior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) dished out 33 assists and eight digs on the night.
C.W. Post's Lisa Delfs led all players in the match with 16 kills and had an impressive .565 attack percentage on the evening.
UB is back in action on Wednesday night October 12th at Adelphi University for a non-conference clash. Action gets underway on Long Island at 7:00 p.m.
