Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes in BU's David Hemery Valentine Invitational
A trio of runners piloted the Purple Knights in Beantown. Sophomore Emilia Russell was especially impressive in the 800-meter.
BOSTON, Mass. – Facing off against one of the toughest fields of the season, the University of Bridgeport's women's indoor track and field team competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday.
A trio of runners piloted the Purple Knights in Beantown today. Sophomore Emilia Russell was especially impressive in the 800-meter.
The England native rattled off a lifetime-best time time of 2:21.20. Russell's Friday tally not only is ranked sixth in the East region, but is almost four seconds faster than her previous best in the 800-meter.
Kesiri Gonzales and Lynzie Lawton registered bests of their own on Friday. It was top indoor collegiate times for the duo as Gonzales ran a 28.22 in the 200 and Lawton posted a 1:10.34 in the 400.
