Senior Annagrazia Bonsanti Earns All-America Honors In Women's 500 Yard Freestyle At 2018 NCAA Championship Meet
Division II Swimming Nationals Wrap Up On Saturday Night
Greensboro, N.C.-Senior Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) continued her fine showing at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet in Greensboro, N.C. on Wednesday night, as she earned All-America honors in the women's 500 Yard Freestyle with an eighth place finish in a time of 4:58.77. On Wednesday, Annagrazia picked up Honorable Mention All-America accolades in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Tomorrow, she will look to add to her hardware when she swims the 1650 Yard Free.
On the men's side, UB sophomore Erik Hren (Maribor, Slovenia) continued his busy meet with a 23rd place finish in the men's 500 Yard Free in a time of 4:31.60, and junior Wilmar Du Plessis (Bloemfontein, South Africa) saw his first action of this year's NCAA National Championship Meet finishing 20th in the men's 100 Yard Backstroke in a time of 49.20.
After three days of action, the UB women sit in 31st place out of 42 scoring teams at the championship with 17 points; while the Purple Knights' men are looking to score their first points of the meet.
