Women’s Soccer Takes Four Spots on 2023 All-CACC Teams
Four Lady Purple Knights were named to All-CACC teams for their 2023 regular season performances.
New Haven, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team had four members of the program recognized by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tuesday morning. Juniors Kate Thill (Goetzingen, Luxembourg) and Angelina LoFranco (Greenacres, Fla.) were named to the 2023 CACC Women's All-Conference First Team while Tatianna Lizarraga (Grad., Tucson, Ariz.) andSolune Moll (So., Bern, Switzerland) were named to All-Conference Second Team.
Kate Thill finished the 2023 regular season as UB's leading goal scorer and point getter, second best in the CACC with 10 goals, three assists for 23 points. Thill took 50 shots over the course of her 17 starts, testing the keeper 27 times for a .540 shot on goal percentage. Reliable in tight games, Kate scored four game winning goals across the regular season campaign.
Angelina LoFranco was the anchor for the Purple Knights in the midfield, starting all 17 matches. Able to test keepers from a distance, the holding midfielder registered 42 shots with 22 finding the target for a .524 shot on goal percentage. LoFranco tallied four goals and two assists for 10 total points prior to the 2023 postseason.
Tatianna Lizarraga proved to be a crucial attacker for Bridgeport this year, scoring eight goals and providing one assist for 17 regular season points. Lizarraga started 11 matches but featured in every game for UB this year. The forward contributed 31 shots, 19 on target for a .613 shot on goal percentage. Tatianna also scored the game winning goal twice, in wins over Post University and Felician University.
Solune Moll always posed a threat in the attacking midfield role for the Purple Knights. Starting 13 matches, she scored three goals and assisted a further three for nine total points. Able to beat players on the dribble and shoot from distance, Moll took 26 shots, putting 15 on frame for a .577 shot on goal percentage.
