Three From Women's Soccer Earn 2022 CCA All-East Region Honors
Angelina LoFranco, Kate Thill And Olivia Pousette Honored For Their Outstanding Play This Season
Flushing, N.Y.-Three members of the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team have earned recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region Teams, with sophomores, midfielder Angelina LoFranco (Greenacres, Fla.) and forward Kate Thill (Goetzingen, Luxembourg) receiving First Team All-D2CCA honors, plus classmate defender Olivia Pousette (Halmstad, Sweden) landing on the All-East Region Second Team. The Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region Teams are selected by athletic communications professionals from the various NCAA regions of the country.
The trio helped the Purple Knights win both the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season and championship tournament titles in 2022, plus UB reached the NCAA Division Women's Soccer East Region Semifinals this year, as the team posted an impressive 13-3-7 overall record.
LoFranco was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022, and she also had a fine year on offense contributing five goals and a team-best nine assists for the Purple Knights
Thill led the team and conference in goals this season with a total of 17, and she added three assists for a total of 37 points in 2022.
Pousette anchored a defense that allowed only 21 goals in 23 matches (0.89 GAA) this season, plus she added a goal.
