Seven Purple Knights Earn All-CACC Women's Soccer Accolades
Sophomore Angelina LoFranco Named CACC Defensive Player of the Year And Tania Armellino Selected As League Coach of the year
New Haven, Conn.- A quartet of schools were honored on Monday by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with major awards for the 2022 women's soccer season. The highlight was Goldey-Beacom College's Alyssa Ruggeri being named the CACC Women's Soccer Player of the Year, as the voting for the all-conference and major awards was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.
In addition to Ruggeri, Thomas Jefferson University's Nikki Dedes was named CACC Rookie of the Year and Holy Family University's Brianna Pudlo was tabbed CACC Goalkeeper of the Year. University of Bridgeport had a pair of major award winners, including Angelina LoFranco earning CACC Defensive Player of the Year accolades and Tania Armellino crowned as CACC Coach of the Year. Alliance University was named the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award winner for demonstrating outstanding character during the 2022 regular season.
Ruggeri, who was also named to the All-CACC First Team at forward, is tied for third in the CACC with 12 goals while also ranking first in assists (13) and points (37).
Dedes' 13 goals is second highest in the league and her 29 points is third best. She also garnered a spot on the all-league first team at forward.

Pudlo went 5-5-6 in net during the regular season and her .852 save percentage leads the CACC. Pudlo, who was also named All-CACC First Team, ranks second in the conference with a 0.84 goals against average.
