Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team remained unbeaten in its last three matches with a hard-fought 1-1 non-conference draw at Molloy College in a rematch of an NCAA Division II East Regional Championship Tournament tilt from last season. UB is now 3-3-1 overall in 2022, and the Lions are now 5-1-1 after the tie.
The Purple Knights scored first on Thursday night when junior Morgan Dodge (Watertown, Conn.) found the back of the net for the second time this season, when she put the ball over the goal line following a scramble at the back post after a shot from classmate Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Bronx. N.Y.) banged off the woodwork. Dodge's goal came with just over three minutes to play in the first half.
Molloy would tie the contest and finish off the scoring on the evening in the 71st minute, when the Lions scored off a free kick.
UB outshot the hosts, 12-4, on the night, but could only net one goal as Molloy goalkeeper Shannon Killian made seven saves.
UB keeper Clara Karlsson (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) made two saves between the pipes to stay unbeaten at 3-0-1 so far this season.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team continues its four-match road trip at Dominican University New York on Wednesday afternoon. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest will being in Orangeburg, New York at 2:00 p.m.
