Secaucus, N. J.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team raised its' Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record to an unblemished 2-0-0 on Tuesday afternoon and evened its overall season mark at 3-3-0 with an impressive 4-0 road win over Alliance University (formerly Nyack College). With the loss, Alliance is now 0-1-1 in the CACC and 1-4-1 overall.
It was a full team effort for the Purple Knights on Tuesday, as UB outshot the hosts, 16-5, and finished with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore Angelina LoFranco (Greenacres, Fla.), who three points on the day, scored the only goal in the match in the first half at the 17:08 mark of play when she capitalized on an Alliance turnover to fire home her third goal of 2022.
The game stayed close at 1-0 until sophomore Kate Thill's (Goetzingen, Luxembourg) scored two goals in just over a two minute span in the 72nd and 74th minutes. Thill now has scored a total of five goals in her team's last two outings to lead the Purple Knights in that category.
Junior Morgan Dodge (Watertown, Conn.) wrapped up the UB scoring for the day with just under 3:30 to play in the match, when she found the back of the net off a feed from classmate Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Bronx, N.Y.).
Sophomore goalkeeper Clara Karlsson (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) raised her season record to 3-0 on Tuesday, as she made one save to pick up career shutout nine in a Bridgeport kit.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team will look to run its winning to three on Thursday night, when the Purple Knights travel to nationally-ranked and former East Coast Conference foe, Molloy College. Kickoff on Long Island is set for 7:00 p.m.
