Bridgeport, Conn.-Ten different players scored goals, as the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team netted six markers in each half, as the Purple Knights defeated the visiting Lincoln (Pa.) University Lions, 12-2, in East Coast Conference action at Knights Field on Saturday afternoon. The Purple Knights, who have now won three in a row and are unbeaten in five matches, are now 9-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play. Lincoln remains winless at 0-12-0 overall and 0-7-0 in the ECC.
Freshmen Kate Thill (Goetzingen, Luxembourg) and Sage Yuen (Braintree, Mass.), each scored two goals on the afternoon for the winners. Thill finished with five points on the afternoon, as she also had an assist.
Senior Lara Heather (Surry, England) also had five points on the day with three assists and one goal.
Single goal scorers on Saturday for UB were Angelina LoFranco (Fr., Greenacres, Fla.), Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Jr., Bronx, N.Y.), Evelyn Hammer (Soph., Littleton, Colo.), Vivien Ruttgers (Jr., Munich, Germany), Tori Smith (Soph., Bridgewater, Mass.), Shyla Murray (Grad., Brentwood, N.Y.) and Alexa Bohling (Clinton, N.Y.).
Junior Helena Dahlstrom (Stockholm, Sweden) earned the win in net for Bridgeport, and freshman keeper Olivia Forbes (Conesus, N.Y.) made two saves in the second half.
Bridgeport outshot the Lions, 41-5, on the day.
Sage Samuels made 12 stops in goal for Lincoln.
