Denton, Texas-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team opened its two-match road trip to the Lone Star State on Thursday night with a tilt at Texas Women's University, and the Purple Knights saw their three-game winning streak snapped, as the Pioneers scored a goal with only 1:56 remaining in the first half and held on to defeat the Purple Knights, 1-0. UB is 3-2-0 on the season, and TWU remains unbeaten at 3-0-2.
Texas Women's outshot UB, 10-3, on the night and took two corners to none for UB.
Freshman Clara Karlssson (Umea, Sweden) played a fine game for Bridgeport making eight saves to limit the host school to only one goal over the 90 minutes.
The UB women's soccer team will close out its Texas trip on Saturday evening with a game at Dallas Baptist University that is slated to begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
