UB's Julia Weidenmark And Nicola Worthington Selected To 2014 All-East Coast Conference First Team For Women's Soccer
Duo Has Helped The Team To A Sterling 13-4-2 Record This Season
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport sophomore women's soccer players Julia Weidenmark (Varnamo, Sweden) and Nicola Worthington (Cholley, England) have been selected to the First Team All-East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Squad for the 2014 season by virtue of a vote of league coaches that was released on Monday afternoon. Weidenmark is a defender, and Worthington plays in the midfield for the Purple Knights.
Both players netted one goal this season for UB, as the team posted a 13-4-2 overall record and advanced to last Friday's East Coast Conference Championship Final versus Mercy.
UB will now await its fate on Monday evening when the team will hear whether or not it receives an at-large bid to the 2014 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament that will begin on Friday, November 14. The Purple Knights were ranked number five in the East Region in the final regular season NCAA Regional Ranking that were released last week.
