UB Women's Soccer Earns Thirteenth Consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Award
Purple Knights Compile Impressive 3.44 Team Grade Point Average
Bridgeport, Conn.-For the thirteenth consecutive season, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer program has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with a College Team Academic Award.
A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.
The UB women's soccer team, under the direction of fifteenth-year head coach Magnus Nilerud, posted a 3.44 grade point average to earn its thirteenth consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Award.
On the field in 2013, the Purple Knights went 18-3-0 overall which tied the school record for single season victories. UB also won the 2013 East Coast Conference title and advanced to the Second Round of 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament as the Purple Knights made their sixth NCAA appearance in the last seven seasons.
