Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Linda Velaj Stamford, Conn.) scored two goals, her ninth and tenth of the season, and classmate Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland) added three assists to help the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team to a 5-0 non-conference home win over the Caldwell College Cougars on Tuesday night.  With the win, UB is now 11-3-1 on the season.  Caldwell falls to 8-7-0 overall.

Sophomore Asia Pulse (New Haven, Conn.) scored the first goal of the match at the 18:38 mark of the first half when she put home a rebound off a shot from junior Katie Stanley (Oxon, England) for her fourth goal of 2010.

The Purple Knights other goals on Tuesday were scored by Stanley, her seventh of the year, and sophomore Molly Tague (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) scored her first goal of the year with just over a minute to play in the second half off an assist from junior Marie Biondi (West Haven, Conn.).

Junior Julia Colley (Harlow, England) picked up her second shut out of the season in net for UB.
 
Bridgeport is back in action on Thursday afternoon at home against Wilmington (Del.) University.  Game time is 3:00 p.m.
