WILMINGTON, Del. – Going on the road for the first time in conference play, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team dropped a 22-11 contest at Wilmington on Saturday. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 6-2 this season.
After UB cut the Wildcats' lead to 9-7 early in the second half, Wilmington closed the game on a 13-4 run. Bridgeport trailed 7-3 after the first quarter and 9-6 at half.
Graduate student Megan Kreitler highlighted the Purple Knights' offense with a team-high five goals. Tara Dimaio followed with five points off two goals and three assists. She also tied a team high with Mikayla Kennedy in ground balls (4). Dimaio continues to lead the CACC in ground balls this season (32).
Four other Purple Knights found the back of the net, including Max McDermott, Danielle Kreitler, Tereza Kreuzova, and Emily Stuart. Kreuzova also chipped in a team-best six draw controls.
