Orangeburg, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team fell to the host Dominican University New York Chargers in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Tuesday afternoon, 25-7. Bridgeport is now 5-8 overall and 4-5 in the CACC. DUNY is now 14-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play.
Danielle Kreitler (Grad., Shelton, Conn.) led the Purple Knights with three goals at Dominican, and classmate Andrea Basilicato Guilford, Conn.) had three points with two goals and one assist.
Freshman Tara Dimaio (Shirley, N.Y.) had one goals and one helper and senior Tereza Kreuzova (Prague, Czech Republic) had UB's other goal.
Sophomore Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 11 saves in net on the day for the Purple Knights.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team closes out its 2023 regular season schedule at Caldwell University with a 4:00 p.m. game on Saturday before beginning play in this season's CACC Championship Tournament at a location to be determined one week from today.
