UB's Tereza Kreuzova Shines For The Czech Republic At The 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship
Helped Her Home Country To A Seventh Place Finish In The 30-Team Event
Bridgeport, Conn.-UB's Tereza Kreuzova (Jr., Prague, Czech Republic) helped the Czech Republic to a seventh place finish at the recently completed 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship that took place in Towson, Maryland.
Tereza and her teammates posted a total record of 6-2 over the nearly two week competition, as they went undefeated in pool play, topping Italy, Columbia and Sweden to advance to the championship bracket in the 30-team event.
In the championship round, the Czech Republic opened play with a 14-9 victory over Germany to move on the quarterfinals where they fell to Canada, 15-7. Canada took second place overall in the tournament losing in the championship final to the United States.
Following the Canada contest, Kreuzova's team dropped a tight 11-10 decision to Israel, but came back in fine style to close out play at the World Championship with an impressive 12-11 win over Haudenosaunee to bring home seventh place.
After a few days off, Tereza and many of her same teammates will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to continue their busy summer of international play and compete in the eight-team women's lacrosse tournament at the 2022 World Games which are set to begin for the Czech Republic on July 13 and run until July 16.
