Buffalo, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2022 schedule on Saturday in Buffalo, New York with 19-8 East Coast Conference loss against the host D'Youville College Saints. UB finishes the season with a 7-6 overall record and a 1-5 ECC mark. D'Youville is now 9-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Senior Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) got the Purple Knights on the scoreboard first with a free position goal just 2:11 into play on Saturday, but the host scored the next six goals to take an advantage which they never relinquished.
Shyla Murray (Grad., Brentwood, N.Y.) led Bridgeport in scoring on Saturday with four goals. Murray finished second on the team in gaols scored this year with 35. as senior Megan Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.), who had one goal against the Saints, led the team this season in goals with 36.
Senior Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.), who had two points in Buffalo on one goal and one assist, finished as the Purple Knights' 2022 leader in points with 43 on 24 goals and a team-best 19 assists.
Senior Addison Plume (Glen Arm, Md.) also netted a goal for UB on Saturday.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) made eight saves in net for Bridgeport in the season finale.
