Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team took on East Coast Conference-leading Mercy College on Tuesday afternoon, in the Purple Knights' penultimate contest of the 2022 season, and UB fell to the host Mavericks by a 19-4 score. Bridgeport is now 7-5 overall and 1-4 in the ECC. Mercy moves to 11-4 overall and stays unbeaten in conference play at 5-0.
Shyla Murray (Grad., Brentwood, N.Y.) scored three of her team's four goals on Tuesday to give her a total of 31 for the season.
Senior Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) netted Bridgeport's other goal on the day.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 11 saves in net on the afternoon.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will travel to Buffalo, New York on Saturday to close out the 2022 season against D'Youville College. Action is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in Western New York.
