UB's Tereza Kreuzova Selected To Czech Republic National Team For 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship
Event Will Take Place From June 30-July 9, 2002 In Towson, Maryland
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse standout Tereza Kreuzova (Jr., Prague, Czech Republic) has been named to the Czech Republic's National Team that will compete in this summer's 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship that will take place from June 29 through July 9 at Towson University in Towson, Maryland and be hosted by USA Lacrosse.
The Czech Republic will be one of 30 teams competing in the World Championship, and they will play four games in the preliminary round taking on Italy on June 30, followed by Columbia on July 1, Mexico and July 3 and wrapping up with Sweden on July 4.
So far for the Purple Knights in 2022, Kreuzova has helped her team post a 7-4 overall record; starting all 11 of her team's game, scoring six goals with one assist for seven points. She also has amassed 33 draw controls, which is second on the team, and collected 25 ground balls.
"We so excited for Tereza to have this opportunity this summer," said University of Bridgeport head women's lacrosse coach Kate Smullen. "She worked extremely hard this season, and I'm sure she will do a great job representing both her home country and the University of Bridgeport on the field at the World Championship."
The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team will close out its 2022 regular season with two road East Coast Conference games next week beginning at Mercy College on Tuesday, April 26 followed by a contest at D'Youville College on Saturday, April 30.
