UB Women's Lacrosse Back In The Win Column With A 22-12 Road Victory Over Caldwell
Purple Knights Have Now Scored 108 Goals In Six Games So Far in 2022
West Caldwell, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport got its offense back into high gear as eight different players scored goals, as the Purple Knights got back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon with a 22-12 road victory over the host Caldwell University Cougars. UB is now 5-1 overall in 2022, and Caldwell remains winless at 0-4.
Senior Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) led Bridgeport with five goals on Tuesday, and she added two assists to finish with seven points on the day.
Graduate student Shyla Murray (Brentwood, N.Y.) had four goals on the day for the Purple Knights. Both Murray and Danielle Kreitler now have a team-leading 20 goals on the season to lead the team.
Three players, Andrea Bascilicato (Grad., Guilford, Conn.), Addison Plume (Sr., Glen Arm, Md.) and Courtney Hylok (Grad., Muskegon, Mich.), each finished with three goals in Tuesday's win.
Rounding out the Bridgeport scoring parade on Tuesday were senior Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) with two markers, and senior Megan Kreitler and junior Tereza Kreuzova (Prague, Czech Republic), each chipped in one goal.
Freshman goalie Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) raised her season record to 5-1 with a 10 saves performance against the Cougars.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team opens a three-game homestand on Thursday afternoon when the host the Post University Eagles at 3:00 p.m. at Knights Field.
