University of Bridgeport Selects Taylor Martin As Head Women's Lacrosse Coach
Team Will Open The 2020 Season On Saturday, February 22nd
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport announces the selection of Taylor Martin as the Purple Knights' new head women's lacrosse coach. Martin comes to UB from Framingham State University where she served as the Rams' assistant women's lacrosse coach in 2019. Before joining the Framingham State program, Martin led the Wilmington College (OH) women's lacrosse team as head coach from 2017 to 2018.
A Georgia native, Martin is a 2014 graduate of Berry College (Ga) where she earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and was a four-year starter in goal and team captain for the Vikings' lacrosse team. She earned a master's degree in Athletic Leadership from Castleton University; and while at Castleton worked as a graduate assistant for the women's lacrosse program from 2015-2017 and helped lead the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament both years.

Martin has also served as the director of goalkeeping for the Bay State Bullets girl's lacrosse club team and has several years of coaching experience on the club and high school levels.
She replaces Mikayla Place who accepted an assistant coaching position at Division 1 Campbell University after serving as the Purple Knights' head coach for the past two seasons.
