UB Falls In 2014 Women's Lacrosse Home Finale To Southern New Hampshire, 16-10
Purple Knights Will Close Out The Season With Four-Game Road Trip Staring At Post University On Tuesday
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team dropped its 2014 home finale on Saturday afternoon at Knights Field losing a Senior Day, non-conference tilt to the visiting Southern New Hampshire Penmen, 16-10. UB is now 1-12 overall, and SNHU ups its overall mark to 4-9.
Graduate student Megan Doyle (Putnam Valley, N.Y.), playing her final regular season home game, led UB in goals on Saturday with three. Junior Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) chipped in two goals and two assists for the Purple Knights.
Three other seniors played their final regular season games at Knights Field on Saturday. Colleen Pruesse (Danbury Conn.) had one goal and one assist; Nichole Rogers (Dallas, Texas) added a goal, and Charity Holt (Baldwin, N.Y.) had two ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover for UB.
Junior goalkeeper Megan Carney (Norwalk, Conn.) had a fine game for the Purple Knights making 17 saves.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team begins a four-game road trip to close out the 2014 season with a contest at Post University on Tuesday, April 15 at 4:00 p.m.
