Women's Lax Drops ECC Tilt At Molloy, 24-7
Seven Goals Mark Most Goals Scored By UB In An ECC Game
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team remained winless in its first varsity season on Wednesday nights as the Purple Knights lost a 24-7 East Coast Conference decision at Molloy College. UB is now 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the ECC. Molloy raises its record to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in conference action. Wednesday's seven goals mark the highest total the Purple Knights have scored in conference play.
Sophomore Jennavie Orrell (Gloucester, Mass) led UB with five goals at Molloy. Orrell leads Bridgeport with 23 goals scored so far this season. Freshmen Nichole Rogers (Dallas, Tex.) and Kathlena Rivera (Staten Island, N.Y.) each scored once for Bridgeport.
UB will look to earn its first win of the season at home this weekend, as the Purple Knights close out their inaugural season with a pair of East Coast Conference games on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday evening, Bridgeport will host Seton Hill at 6:00 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. game at Knights Field on Sunday against Lake Eire.
