Women's Lacrosse Loses At Chestnut Hill
Growing Pains Continue For First-Year Varsity Program as Purple Knights Are Defeated 19-3.
Plymouth, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team saw its overall record drop to 0-3 on the season with a 19-3 loss at Chestnut Hill College on Sunday afternoon. The victory evens the Griffins season record at 1-1.
Sophomore Jennavie Orrell (Gloucester, Mass.) scored two goals for the Purple Knights to raise her team-leading total to 14 through three games. Freshman Colleen Pruesse (Danbury, Conn.) netted UB's other goal on Sunday.
Nicole Covella led Chestnut Hill with five gaols.
Bridgeport freshman goalie Victoria Harrison (Massapequa, N.Y.) made 19 saves on the day.
The UB women's lacrosse team is now scheduled to face two junior college programs before hitting the field for its next contest that counts in the standings on March 30th at C.W. Post in the team's East Coast Conference opener.
