UB Women's Lacrosse Falls At Home To Dominican, 20-8
Sophomore Jennavie Orrell Nets Four Goals
Bridgeport, Conn.-The Dominican (N.Y.) College Lady Chargers raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first 12:26 of the game, and they went on to cruise to a 20-8 non-conference women's lacrosse win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Friday night. Dominican evens its record at 1-1, and UB is now 0-2 on the season.
Brianna Blank and Maggie Brocklebank led the Lady Chargers' offense as they each netted five goals.
Sophomore Jennavie Orrell (Gloucester, Mass.) led Bridgeport with four goals to give her a team-leading 12 goals in two games so far in 2011.
Freshman Krystal Thompson (Elmont, N.Y.) scored two goals and had an assist for the Purple Knights, and sophomore Jessica Deutsch (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and freshman Charity Holt (Baldwin, N.Y.) each had one goal for UB.
Bridgeport goalie Victoria Harrison (Massapequa, N.Y.) made 13 saves for the Purple Knights.
UB returns to action on Sunday afternoon (March 13th) at Chestnut Hill College. Game time in Pennsylvania is set for 3:30 p.m.
