Sepulveda Named GEC Gymnast of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following another sensational night of performances, sophomore Lola Sepulveda of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team has been named the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Gymnast of the Week.
Sepulveda was at the forefront of one of the best team scores in recent memory for UB as the Purple Knights posted a total of 193.550 at their home quad meet last Friday.
The Virginia native earned first-place marks in both the bars (9.825) and the floor (9.850) en route to an all-around score of 39.225 (career high). Sepulveda rounded out her evening with tallies of 9.825 on beam and 9.725 on vault.
Fellow sophomore Abigail Kenney was named the GEC Gymnast of the Week earlier this month after UB's tri-meet at the University of New Hampshire.
Kenney, Sepulveda, and the rest of the UB gymnastics team will return to action this Sunday (Feb. 4) when they travel to the University of Pennsylvania for a tri-meet.
