UB Gymnastics Scores A 192.800 At 2023 Gymnastics East Conference Championship
Sophomore Olivia Imbarlina Takes Third Place In The All-Around At This Year's GEC's
Williamsburg, Va.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics squad posted a total team score of 192.800 to take third place in the opening session of two at the 2023 Gymnastics East Championship meet hosted by William & Mary on Saturday, and that score placed the Purple Knights seventh out of eight teams overall in the meet. Penn took home the 2023 GEC Team Title with a score of 194.925.
At the GEC's, the Purple Knights scored 48.775 in the floor exercise, 48.425 on the balance beam, 48.00 on the vault and 47,600 on the bars.
Sophomore Olivia Imbarlina (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had a fine day competing in the all-around on Saturday, as she finished with a total of 38.750 in the events which put her in second place in the opening session and third in the overall all-around at the conference championship.
Olivia was the top UB finisher in the floor exercise with a score of 9.825 which put her in a second place tie in the opening session and a tie for seventh overall.
Senior Nicole Javinett (Marlboro, N.Y.) posted the team's best score on the beam at 9.775 which put her in a second place tie in UB's session and a tie for seventh overall.
Classmate Joanna Chambers (Georgetown, Tex.) starred on the vault tying for first place in the opening session with a score of 9.700 and that placed her in a seventh place tie overall.
Chambers also posted her team's top score on the bars at 9.600.
