Purple Knights Post Season-High Team Score At Temple Quad Meet
Team Back In Action At Brown Next Sunday Afternoon
Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team faced some strong competition on Friday evening in a quad meet hosted by Temple University, and the Purple Knights responded by posting a season-high team score of 191.225. The host Owls took the top spot as a team on Friday with a total of 193.650. LIU took second with a score of 192.875, Cornell was third with a total of 191.225 followed by UB at 191.225
The Purple Knights posted season-high scores in all four events on Friday in the City of Brotherly Love with a 48.275 on the vault, 47.850 on the bars, 47.850 on the beam and 47.275 in the floor exercise.
Senior Joanna Chambers (Georgetown, Tex.) posted a career-best score of 9.750 to tie for third place on the vault, and she also was the top UB finisher on the bars, as she tied her career-high score of 9.725 to tie for seventh.
Teammate Olivia Imbarlina (So. Pittsburgh, Pa.) also shined on the bars setting a career-high with a score of 9.700 to take ninth place.
Senior Nicole Javinett (Marlboro, N.Y.) had another fine performance on the beam taking fourth place with a score of 9.725.
Freshman Tierney Milliken (N. Easton, Mass.) was the team's top finisher in the floor exercise with a score of 9.525.
Classmate Lola Sepulveda (Woodbridge, Va.) took second place in Friday's all-around competition posting a total of 38.050 in the four events.
Up next, the women's gymnastics team will return to action next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Brown University in a meet that will also include Southern Connecticut State University and Rhode Island College.
