Several Purple Knights Gymnasts Ready For Individual Postseason Competition
Senior Kathryn Doran And Freshman Kiana Session Named 2022 WCGA Regular Season Division II All-Americans
Bridgeport, Conn.-Several members of the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team will take part in individual postseason action in the coming weeks starting with senior Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) participating in the NCAA National Championship Raleigh, North Carolina Regional hosted North Carolina State on the uneven parallel bars.
Doran, who posted a NQS of 9.865 for the season on the bars, will be in action on Thursday evening March 31.
Five Purple Knights earned individual event qualifications to the 2022 USA Gymnastics National Championship Meet that will be hosted by Cornell University in Ithaca, New York form April 8-10.
Earning the nod to compete at the 2022 USAG Championship are:
Olivia Imbarlina (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) on beam and vault
Kathryn Doran (Sr., Oakville, Ontario, Canada) on the bars and beam
Nicole Javinett (Sr., Marlboro, N.Y.) on the beam
Crystal Gwinn (Sr., New Port Richey, Fla.) in the floor exercise
Kiana Session (Fr., Chandler, Az.) in the all-around
Also, Kathryn Doran and Kiana Session have been recognized for their outstanding performance throughout the 2022 regular season with their selections as 2022 Division II Regular Season All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA). Doran has been named a First-Team All-American on the bars, and Session has been selected as a Second team All-American in the all-around.
