Bridgeport Gymnastics Opens Home Stretch Of The 2022 At Temple University Quad Meet
UB Finishes In Fourth Place With A Team Score Of 186.450
Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday evening to compete in a quad meet hosted by Temple University, and the Purple Knights finished in fourth place with a team score of 186.450. Maryland won Thursday's team title with a score of 196.550 with Temple finishing second at 195.775 and Southern Connecticut State taking third with a score of 188.950.
As a team, UB scored 48.075 on the balance beam, 47.025 on the vault, 46.450 on the bars and 44.900 in the floor exercise.
Top individual performance for the Purple Knights on Thursday night included senior Nicole Javinett (Marlboro, N.Y.) taking second place on the balance with a score of 9.825, which tied her career-best mark, and classmate Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) tying for third place on the bars with a score of 9.850.
UB freshman Kiana Session (Chandler, Az.) had a solid performance in the all-around on Thursday posting a score of 38.250 in the four events to take third place in that competition, and classmate Catherine Aucoin (Austin, Tex.) took fourth in the all-around at Temple with a total of 37.300.
Up next, the UB women's gymnastics team will travel to Providence, R.I. on Sunday afternoon for the first of back-to-back meets at Brown University. Sunday's meet is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
