Gymnastics Does It Again As Purple Knights Post Season-High Team Score For Fourth Straight Meet
UB Posts A Total of 194.450 To Take Second Behind New Hampshire At Brown Quad Meet
Providence, R.I.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team wrapped up a busy three-day stretch that included two meets by turning in a season-high team score with a 194.450 in a quad meet hosted by Brown University. UB finished second on Monday behind the University of New Hampshire, as they number 25 ranked Division I Wildcats, posted a score of 196.075. Host Brown University took third place with a score of 194.000, and Southern Connecticut State was fourth with a score of 191.525.
Bridgeport senior Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) won the vault (9.850) and took first place in the floor exercise (9.900), as she took fourth in Monday's all-around competition with a total of 38.850 in the four events.
Sophomore Kimberly Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) gave the Purple Knights a one-two finish on the vault, as she tied for second place with a score of 9.800.
Bridgeport's Kelsey Campbell (Fr., Las Vegas, Nev.) was her team's top finisher in two events, as she grabbed fifth place on the beam with a personal best score of 9.800 and third place on the bars with another personal best at 9.850.
Up next, the Purple Knights will travel across the country for a meet hosted by UCLA on Saturday, February 21 starting at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time (7:00 p.m. in the East). Joining UB and the host Bruins will be Nebraska and Sacramento State.
