Women's Basketball Falls at Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Going on the road to visit one of the top teams in the CACC, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team was defeated at Holy Family on Saturday by a score of 68-31. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' conference record to 4-4 this season.
The visitors were piloted by sophomore Niyah Whitten, who finished with a team-high 11 points. She also finished the game with three steals and two assists.
Freshman Harmony Earth-Wiley served as Bridgeport's second-leading scorer with seven points while classmate Kaleigh Valle chipped in a pair of three-pointers off the bench.
Seniors Shakira Hester and Stephanie McBride led the Purple Knights in rebounding, registering nine and eight boards respectively. McBride continues to be one of the top rebounders in the CACC this season, averaging 9.6 boards per game (3rd in the conference).
Bridgeport finished the contest with 11 assists on 11 made field goals. The Purple Knights shot 11-of-57 from the field.
The third quarter provided the most success for UB as they outscored Holy Family, 16-10.
