McBride of Women's Basketball Named CACC Defensive Player of the Week
Tallied averages of 17.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per contest.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a pair of outstanding performances on the hardwood, senior Stephanie McBride of the Bridgeport women's basketball team was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
McBride was dominant in leading the Purple Knights to a pair of conference wins last week. The Brooklyn native racked up averages of 17.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per contest. She also chipped in three total assists and three total steals.
McBride was especially impressive against Goldey-Beacom on Saturday as she recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Following her back-to-back big games, she has now piled up five double-doubles this season. McBride also currently leads the CACC this year in total blocks (33).
The University of Bridgeport's women's basketball squad will return to action at home tomorrow night against Post University (5 p.m.).
