Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team never led in the game, as the Purple Knights dropped to 4-13 overall and 2-3 in East Coast Conference play, with a 66-43 home loss on Wednesday evening against the visiting Molloy College Lions. Molly is now 12-5 overall and 4-1 in the ECC on the season.
Freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) led UB in scoring with points on the night, and Kerr also dished off six assists, had four rebounds and one steal and one blocked shots.
Junior Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) was next in scoring for the Purple Knights with seven points, and she tied for the team lead in rebounding with classmate Janiece Loney (Herndon, Va.) with five boards.
Molloy's Kathryn Gibson led all scorers in the game with 16 points.
