Senior Jennifer Kucukkaya Leads The Purple Knights With 24 Points
Caldwell, N.J.-Five members of the University of Bridgeport women's basketball reached double-digits in the scoring column on Thursday night, but it was not enough, as the visiting Purple Knights fell in a high-scoring, non-conference road tilt at the Caldwell University Cougars, 91-84, on Thursday night in New Jersey, UB and Caldwell are each now 1-2 on the young 2014-15 season.
Senior Jennifer Kucukkaya (Sodertalje, Sweden) led Bridgeport with 24 points on the night. She was joined in double figures by classmate Jenna Hoffman (Manchester Center, Vt.) with 15 points, junior Shannon Holt (Holden, Mass.) with 12 points, senior Tiara Aziz (Easton, Pa.) with 11 points and sophomore Evelyn Ovner (Vallentuna, Sweden) with 10 points. Holt notched a double-double on the night, as she grabbed at team-high 10 rebounds and also blocked three shots.
Caldwell's Emily Caswell led all scorers in the game with 28 points, and she had a game0high 16 rebounds.
The UB women's basketball team is next in action on Sunday, November 30 at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, Pa. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
