Number One Bentley Tops Women's Basketball, 72-42
Purple Knights Back In Action On Wednesday At LIU Post
Waltham, Mass.-the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team opened the 2014 portion of this season's schedule by taking on the nation's number one ranked NCAA Division II squad on Friday in the Bentley University Falcons on a bone-chilling evening in Massachusetts and Bentley never trailed in the game defeating UB, 72-42. With the victory, the Falcons remain perfect on the year at 12-0. Bridgeport is now 3-8 overall.
On the night, Bentley shot 43.3 percent from the floor (26 of 60) and outrebounded the Purple Knights, 48-32. Bridgeport only connected on 12 of 56 its field goals (21.4 %).
Junior Tiara Aziz (Easton, Pa.) led Bridgeport with 15 points.
Courtney Finn and Lauren Battista each scored 16 points to lead the Falcons.
Friday night's contest was Bridgeport's final non-conference tilt of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Purple Knights return to action and East Coast Conference play at LIU Post on Wednesday, January 8. Action tips-off on Long Island at 5:00 p.m.
