Women's Basketball Nets Impressive 81-45 ECC Road Win Over Roberts Wesleyan
Four Purple Knights Reach Double Figures In Wednesday's Win
Rochester, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team won its third straight game with an impressive 81-45 East Coast Conference road triumph over the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks on Wednesday night in upstate New York. The victory by UB avenges a 66-57 home loss to Roberts Wesleyan earlier this season and ups Bridgeport's overall record to 11-6, and the Purple Knights are now 6-3 in conference play. RWC is now 8-8 overall and 4-6 in the ECC. Bridgeport has also now won five of its last six outings.
The Purple Knights, who never trailed on Wednesday, were led by graduate student Priscilla Dodoo (Worcester, Mass.) who scored a game-high 22 points and added seven rebounds.
Freshman Danielle Dorsett (Waterbury, Conn.) had a single-game career high 17 points for the winners, and Dodoo and Dorsett were joined in double-digit scoring by junior Aziza Patterson (Teaneck, N.J.) with 18 points, and senior Tanisha Carter (E. Hartford, Conn.) with 12 points. Patterson had an excellent all-around game versus the Redhawks, as she also had five assists, three steals and went 4-of-7 from three-point range.
The UB women's basketball team returns to action at home on Saturday afternoon as the Purple Knights host LIU Post in a key East Coast Conference contest. Game time in Hubbell Gym is set for 1:00 p.m.
