Softball's Burawski Named to NFCA’s Division II Pitcher of the Year Watchlist
She is one of just seven pitchers in the East Region to appear on the prestigious list.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Currently sitting with the second most strikeouts in the East Region this season, senior Kaite Burawski of the University of Bridgeport's softball team has been selected to the NFCA's Division II Pitcher of the Year watchlist. She is one of just seven pitchers in the East Region to appear on the prestigious list.
Burawski is coming off her best performance of the season on Wednesday against Caldwell. The left-hander allowed just one run and struck out 11 batters in a complete-game victory. She has now tossed 10 complete games this season and has racked up 90 strikeouts in 73.1 innings pitched.
Burawski's career at UB has been nothing short of spectacular. The Delaware native was named the ECC Pitcher of the Year in both 2021 and 2022 while piling up an incredible 547 strikeouts during those two seasons. She went 15-5 with a 1.28 ERA as a sophomore and then posted a 25-8 record with a 1.80 ERA as a junior.
Burawski and the rest of the Bridgeport softball team will return to action on Saturday with a doubleheader at Molloy.
