Bridgeport Softball Continues To Shine In The Classroom With Easton/NFCA Academic Honors
Purple Knights Honored For Their Team GPA Plus 10 Student-Athletes Receive Individual Honors
Louisville, Ky.-The University of Bridgeport softball team, under the direction of head coach Dawn Stearns, continued to shine both on the field and in the classroom, as the 2021 Purple Knights were recognized on Tuesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) with an Easton/NFCA Team GPA Award, plus a total of 10 members from last year's two-time East Coast Conference Championship and NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament UB team earned individual All-America Scholar-Athlete honors by posting grade point averages of 3.5 or better.
Last year's Bridgeport softball team checked in the 38th spot in all of NCAA Division II softball with a 3.58 team grade point average. Frostburg State University led the nation with a 3.79 GPA.
