Softball's Katelyn Wall Named Captial One Academic All-District
Led UB With Seven Homers And 27 RBI In 2015
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport senior softball standout Katelyn Wall (Madison, Conn.) has been named a First Team Capital One Academic All-District ® performer as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors Association of America in District 1 and will now move onto the national ballot where a First, Second and Third Team will be selected for NCAA Division II softball
In 2015, Wall led the Purple Knights with seven home runs and 27 run batted in, plus she score a team-high 30 runs. Katelyn finished second on the team with a .301 batting average.
In the classroom, Wall posted a 3.86 GPA as a Graphic Design major.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
