Purple Knights Blanked In Both Games

Flushing, N.Y.-It was a tough Thursday afternoon for the University of Bridgeport softball team , as the Purple Knights were blanked in both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader by the host Queens (N.Y.) College Knights, 8-0 and 7-0. UB is now 10-15 overall and 5-4 in conference play. Queens raises its record to 19-9 and 7-3 in the ECC.
In game one, the Purple Knights managed two hits in a contest that was called after five innings, and in the nightcap, QC's Isabelle Yaroch pitched a no-hitter issuing nine walks and striking out eight.
The UB softball team will look to return to the win column on Saturday when the Purple Knights host Molloy College in an ECC doubleheader that begins at 12 noon.
