Softball Blanked In Both Ends Of A Doubleheader Versus Molloy
UB Falls 6-0 and 3-0
Bridgeport, Conn.-It was a tough Tuesday afternoon for the University of Bridgeport softball team, as the Purple Knights were blanked in both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader by the Molloy College Lady Lions, 6-0 in game one and 3-0 in game two. In game two, Molloy pitcher Kelley Jansen hurled a no-hitter. With the two losses on Tuesday, UB is now 5-13 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Molloy ups its overall record to 17-5, and they are 4-0 in conference play.
In game one, Leona Reyna (Jr., San Diego, Calif.), Taylor McBeth (So., Langley, BC, Canada) and Kelly Olencki (Fr., Milford, Conn.) each had a hit for the Purple Knights.
In the nightcap, freshman Chloe Shill (Miami, Fla.) was the hard-luck loser, as all three runs she allowed were unearned.
Bridgeport will look to snap a seven-game losing streak at Dowling on Thursday afternoon.
