Both UB Cross Country Teams Take Ninth Place At The Bruce Kirsh Cup In New Hampshire
Purple Knights Next In Action At The 2023 CACC Championship Meet On October 22nd
Hopkinton, N.H.-Both University of Bridgeport cross teams took ninth place at the Bruce Kirsch Cup event hosted by Franklin Pierce University on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore Emilia Russell (Kingston, U.K.) led the UB women over the 5K course with a season-best time of 22:15.3 which put her in the 35th scoring place and 64th overall. Genevieve Fayo (So., Cornwall, N.Y.) was the next Bridgeport female finisher cross the finish line in a time of 24:58.7 putting her in the 47th scoring spot and 64th overall.
On the men's side, freshman Damian Coles (Philadelphia, Pa.) over the 8K course in a time of 38:26.78 good for 54th scoring place, and classmate Tayshaun Bookal (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the next Purple Knight finisher in 55th scoring place in a time of 38:38.64.
Up next, the UB cross teams will head to Philadelphia for the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Meet host by Chestnut Hill College on Sunday, October 22.
