Purple Knights Compete At Ron Stonitsch Cross Country Invitational Hosted By Vassar College
UB Next In Action In Two Weeks At Central Connecticut State's Ted Owen Invitational
Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's and men's cross teams were in action for the second time in 2022 on Saturday morning at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational hosted by Vassar College, and the UB women finished in ninth place, and the men's team took tenth place.
For the women, senior Alexandra Toth (Sandy Hook, Conn.) was the Purple Knights top finisher covering the 5K course in a time of 22:59.2, which placed her in the 43rd scoring place. She was followed closely by freshman Emilia Russell (Kingston, U.K.), who turned in a time of 23:09.6 to finish in the 44th scoring position. Both of those times were improvements over last week's season opening times at Adelphi.
Freshman Tydus Vongsiri (Woonsocket, R.I.) was the top finisher for the Bridgeport men as he posted a time of 31:45.8 over the 6K course.
Up next, the UB cross country teams will compete in two weeks at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University.
