Purple Knights Compete At Mount Saint Mary's (NY) XC Race For The Second Time In 2021
Men Take 10th Place And Women Finish In 6th As A Team
Milton, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams on Sunday traveled to Milton, N.Y. for the second time in 2021 to compete at the Mount Saint Mary (NY) College XC Series Race # 2.
In the men's race, the Purple Knights finished tenth out of 20 teams in the 8K event. The top finisher for the Purple Knights was junior D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.J.), who took the 61st scoring place in a time of 39:14.4. Senior Tyler McNeil (Richmond, Va.) was just behind Collins in 62nd scoring place in a time of 39:14.5.
In the women's 6K race, junior Alexandra Toth (Sandy Hook, Conn.) took 15th place covering the course in a time of 29:46.3 to be the first Purple Knight across the finish line. Graduate student Alexis Richardson (Coram, N.Y.) was the next UB finisher in 18th place in a time of 30:56.3. As a team, the UB women finished sixth out of 15 teams
Up next, the UB cross country teams will compete in the NJIT Invitational in Newark, New Jersey, next Saturday, October 2.
