Cross Country Teams Open 2015 Season At LIU Post Invitational

Brookville, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams opened their 2015 seasons on Saturday morning by travelling to Long Island and LIU Post Invitational.  The UB men finished in twelfth place, and the UB women took thirteenth place in the event.

The top finisher for the Bridgeport men was freshman D'vonne Troumbo (Franklinville, N.J.), who covered the 8K course in time of 32:41.67, good for 56th scoring place.

For the Purple Knights' women, graduate student, Alina Sotnikova (Riga, Latvia) was the team's top runner finishing the 5K course in a time of 23:03.33, good for 57th scoring place.

The UB cross country teams are back in action next Saturday at Fairfield University, when they compete in the Father Leeber Invitational.
