AMHERST, Mass. – In rare mid-week action, a pair of student-athletes from the University of Bridgeport's men's track and field team competed at the UMass Multi Meet on Wednesday and Thursday.
Freshman John Panzera finished fourth in the decathlon while classmate Nick Migliarese posted a seventh-place finish. Panzera served as the highest non-DI finisher with a point total of 5302. Migliarese made his return to the decathlon with a score of 3432.
A trio of lifetime-best times highlighted Panzera's terrific performance. The Haddam, Conn. native capped off both day's events with PRs.
He started with a mark of 53.04 in the 400-meter on Day One before clocking a 16.38 in the 110-hurdles and then 53.04 in the 1500m on the second day.
Migliarese, meanwhile, registered a college-best mark in the shot put (9.60m), a season-best time in the 110-hurdles (18.93) and a season-high score in the discus (27.85m).
