Track and Field Competes at West Point Tune-Up
Kate Thill provides one of the day's highlights with a win in the 500-meter.
WEST POINT, N.Y. – In one of their final meets of the indoor season, the University of Bridgeport's men's and women's track and field teams competed at the West Point Tune-Up on Saturday.
Sophomore Emilia Russell posted a pair of personal bests to lead the Purple Knights. The England native was especially stout in the long jump, registering a third-place mark of 5.17 meters.
Russell also raced to a personal record in the 60-hurdles with a time of 10.42.
In addition to Russell's PRs, junior Kate Thill raced to victory for the women on Saturday. The Luxembourg native won the 500-meter with a mark of 1:33.56.
On the men's side, freshman John Panzera once again piloted the Purple Knights. The Haddam, Conn. native finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters and fourth in the long jump with a score of 5.89 meters.
