Track and Field Begins Outdoor Season at Lynchburg's Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Seeing outdoor action for the first time this season, the University of Bridgeport's men's and women's track and field teams competed at Lynchburg's Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational this past weekend (March 22-23).
On the men's side, it was the trio of John Panzera, Nick Migliarese, and Damian Coles putting together solid performances.
Migliarese was especially busy. The Florida native placed 25th in the javelin (36.89m), 13th in the discus (32.00m), 22nd in the long jump (5.42m) and 36th in the 110-hurdles (19.84). He also finished 23rd in the javelin with a mark of 36.89m.
Cole, meanwhile, finished 37th in the 400-meter dash (52.34) and 53rd in the 200-meter dash (23.55).
Panzera rounded out the men's efforts with a 23rd-place finish in the 110-hurdles (16.74), a 20th-place performance in the javelin (41.14m) and a 14th-place finish in the pole vault (3.65m).
For the women, it was the trio of Faith Hershberger, Morgan Dodge and Lynzie Lawton leading the way.
Hershberger finished 38th in the hammer (16.91m) and 35th in the shot put (7.93m) while Dodge placed 37th in the 100-hurdles (23.68), 33rd in the javelin (20.72m) and 28th in the long jump (4.35m).
Lawton posted a pair of finishes on Sunday. The New York native placed 65th in the 200-meter dash (30.87) and 34th in the 400-meter dash (1:11.89).
